Summary: instant suspend on non-original battery
Product: ipaq-sleep
Version: 0.8
Platform: Compaq iPAQ H55xx
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: ipaq-sleep
AssignedTo: [email protected]
ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
When using non-original battery (which does not contain the DS2760 chip),
ipaq-sleep suspends the PDA in the moment when I get it off the cradle. This is
probably caused by using just percentile battery state from APM, which is in
this case always zero. The only information about battery status is the word
'high'/'low'/'critical' before percents (if I understand it correctly, so far I
have seen only the 'high' one).
Killing ipaq-sleep and starting 'ipaq-sleep -a' works around this problem, but
this does not allow booting with such battery off-line - it needs to be booted
in cradle and 'ipaq-sleep -a' started before.
Proposed modification is change in ipaq-sleep to honor the other battery
status as well, at least when percents are zero.
