Status in Dell Inspiron Mini with Custom Dell UI: New

Bug description:
Hi there,

I'd like to custom my PC environment as I always do by configuring the number
of Desktops or mapping some special keys to certain works and so on. I guess
the configurations related to gnome preferences, are saved in gconf, but in my
case they are reflash when I reboot the PC.

Specifically the next ones:
  - # desktops: I use to use 9 desktops (3rowsx3columns) to work on my own.
When I reboot the defaults are restored (2 desktops with 3x1 config)
  - Windows key: I have mapped the windows key to run a gnome-terminal. When I
reboot, the bindign doesn't work.

My system:

$ uname -a
Linux myhost 2.6.24-19-lpia #1 SMP Mon Nov 3 15:25:26 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux

I use GNOME as desktop.
