I managed to reproduce it. I tried to change the boot configurations in the following way:
1. edit /usr/lib/usplash.conf to the proper configuration (1024x600 instead of the default but oviously wrong 1024x768) 2. edit the vga code in the boot menu. I still get the stretch splash screen. Unfortunately the mini 9 video driver does not handle in vga mode widescreen, so any code which doesn't correspond to either 800x600 or 648x480 is not accepted. So really the simplest way to fix this is by recreating the splash screen image stretched in the opposite direction so that it appears correctly at boot. -- The Ubuntu splash screen (while booting) is stretched https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/344357 You received this bug notification because you are a member of OEM Services QA, which is subscribed to The Dell Mini Project.
