Marco, and others,
We'll leave the server up for at least another week to leave time for
effort to review and move the old issues, but I wouldn't worry about
it too terribly much.
While these old issues are important and I don't like the idea of
losing any that are important, my reasoning behind this comment is
that most of the critical ones have already been worked through. A
lot of what happens in OFBiz is driven from the edge, ie driven by
the community. This is true even of what the committers do as we are
also "on the edge", maybe just a little closer to the center but
still very much just users of OFBiz. If an issue stays open and
untouched for a long time then it hasn't bothered anyone enough to
get taken care of. Many of them weren't issues in the first place or
were rediscovered and fixed at some point without the "fixer" even
realizing or remembering the old issue was there.
Whatever the case, in a way it's nice to start over with this sort of
thing and we don't need to be too aggressive about moving issues
forward. Of course, if the thought of shutting off the old server
gets us off our keisters and actively working on these issues, I
guess that's a good thing... Who knows, given the intent to do a
release soon maybe that was part of why I liked the idea, even if I
didn't realize it. ;)

Hi David,
I think that there are still a lot of issue open and I'm working to
understand which are still open and which one can be closed but for
moment it will better if it is possible for you to not shut down
the Old Jira Issue Server.
Thanks a lot
Marco

Subject: The Old Jira Server
I've noticed a lot of effort recently to review and resolve old
issues, especially those on the old Undersun Jira server.
The plan for a while has been to eventually shut down this
server, and we'd like to do that soon. The box it is running on
does not have nearly enough memory for what is running on it
(OFBiz (including the memory hungry online doc site), Jira,
Confluence, plus Apache, SVN, the old list archives, etc), which
is why we've had intermittent problems with those applications
for the last few months, especially with Jira and Confluence
which have had to be restarted frequently.
So, anyway, are we ready to shut down
jira.undersunconsulting.com? Are there any other issues to move
over that are important, or are we ready to let them go?
