Jacopo Cappellato commented on OFBIZ-508:
-----------------------------------------

I think it's a good idea and I'm going to test it too.
One doubt I have is about a small license issue: do we need to add a notice to
the NOTICE file for it?
Here is the content of the LICENSE file of the Freemarker distribution:

======================================================
FreeMarker 1.x was released under the LGPL license. Later, by community

consensus, we have switched over to a BSD-style license. As of FreeMarker

2.2pre1, the original author, Benjamin Geer, has relinquished the copyright in

behalf of Visigoth Software Society. The current copyright holder is the

Visigoth Software Society.

> Update for freemarker.jar from version 2.3.4 to 2.3.8
> -----------------------------------------------------
>
> Key: OFBIZ-508
> URL: http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OFBIZ-508
> Project: OFBiz (The Open for Business Project)
> Issue Type: Improvement
> Affects Versions: SVN trunk
> Environment: N/A
> Reporter: Ray Barlow
>
> Trying to use substring in freemarker, but only supported since 2.3.7:
> http://www.nabble.com/substring-builting-broken--t2381661.html
> An update to the freemarker.jar 2.3.8 fixes it for me and nothing else is
> broken from what I can see so far.
> Seems silly for me to load jar to this jira issue when it can be pulled
> direct from source at freemarker so here is the link:
> http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/freemarker/freemarker-2.3.8.tar.gz
