but before going too far with your work, maybe it's a good idea if you have a look at the way I've implemented it in standard svn... if it's what you need you will not need to maintain custom code; if it's not exactly what you need, we can integrate the existing code in svn; but please, have a look at what (and how) is implemented (manufacturing->bill of materials->bom simulation)
