My second not so elegant, but quick answer approach...

Can you put issues into context

ie.
context.put("issues" issues);

then either using freemarker print ${issues} to the
screen or using the screen widget
<label text="${issues}"/>
find out what object type issues is (either map,
generic value, etc)
