Dear Wikimedians,
We hope this email finds you well. We invite you to join the next
episode of WikiAfrica Hour "Offline Wikis, the need and the available
options”
We are very excited to discuss this topic with the episode guests and
your joining is very valuable.
What can you expect from the episode?
Not all places have stable access to the internet, and as the Wikimedia
community aims at equity and variability, we need to focus on finding
methods to reach places with little connectivity to guarantee free
knowledge distribution everywhere. In this episode, guests who have had
experience working on offline projects and initiatives will discuss
their methods, digital divide, ways of housing and distributing static
content, and what support is offered from the Wikimedia Foundation,
chapters and user groups. We will also analyse examples of settled
offline projects that serve Africa's Wikimedia communities and beyond.

internet content accessible to people without permanent connectivity.

Tim Moody <https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:Tim-moody>spends
most of his time trying to make Internet in a Box useful to children
and adults who lack a connection to the World Wide Web. He dreams of
a day when the Library of Alexandria and the House of Wisdom are in
everyone's hands.

Maxwell Beganim <https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:Xibitgh>, an
Open enthusiast ,educator and a sustainability leader. He pioneered
the implementation of Kiwix and digital literacy in Senior high
schools in Ghana. He is currently the Africa (Anglophone)
Coordinator for Open Knowledge Foundation Network. A Cofounder of
the Ghanaian Languages Wikimedia
Hosting themNichole Saad, an experienced educator with a mission for
transforming lives through equity in education. With nearly 20 years of
teaching and leadership experience across 9 countries, she works to
create transformative learning experiences that equip learners to thrive
in our ever-changing 21st century landscape. Through founding the Open
Learning Collective, she helps organizations around the world develop
innovative education programs, empower teachers with effective training,
and navigate complex education policies.
