I wonder we have no choice than providing a table in the README with the
supported imaplib2 releases for all the versions above v7.*.

Something like:

  If you or your distribution does not make use of the bundled imaplib2
  version, we might not provide official support. It is only provided
  with respect to the following table:

  - v7.0.0 to v7.0.4: imaplib2 v2.53, v2.54
  - v7.1+: imaplib2 v2.55
