Thanks for all your feedback - It seems that Delphi 4 is just plain slow to
load - even on more powerfull machines - still - I think that it may just be
time to upgrade my PC :-(.
Pursuant to Help files - I have found some info regarding help file format
from www.wotsit.com (a veritable goldmine) and have managed to patch a
delphi help file to make it where and as big as I desire - I will now see if
I can lash up some kind of utility to make it easier ...
Delphi 4 has this new help manager system which has exacerbated the problems
of help window management by putting the help topics into lots of seperate
files - this has the effect of loading a new help file everytime the the
help system discerns it needs to find help in a different file - this
promptly resets your carefully placed and sized help window back to the
values set in the .hlp file itself - yeah right !!.
