Well that's pretty interesting Mark. I didn't get this one, (Could be
because I'm out of town) but I just got one advertising a meeting in
Wellington Monday morning, and in Melbourne Tuesday. Different Subject,
different speakers. Here is an extract from that Email. It's a pity this
one wont be back to back with the Auckland Delphi meeting, and the two
on the same day.
Here is a snippet
TO BE DISCUSSED
Many organisations, faced with:- the need to automate, e-commerce and
internet-enable, are looking towards technology such as CORBA, EJB and
Application Servers to provide real business advantage. Typically, a
whole new infrastructure is required:- one that will not only address
the rapid development & deployment needs of systems development teams,
but provide an infrastructure for Ecommerce and also facilitates systems
integration with existing and legacy systems.
In our experience, a strategy of Reuse before we Buy before we Build, is
often used. Such a strategy leads to Component Based Development (an
extension of the Object Oriented approach). Choose the foundation
first, then build on top using a systems integration approach across the
foundation using standards such as CORBA, EJB, Messaging, Publish &
Subscribe etc.
We'll show you how CORBA, EJB and Java can solve your Internet,
E-commerce and system integration requirements, discuss where it's been
done before, lessons learned and demonstrate a way forward for
Can you tell me the the exact details of the Auckland meeting (time etc)
so I can get there.
Thanks,
Tony.
