I can confirm, after RTFR.Me, that it does not upgrade anything. NT5
does,
kinda.

Tip:
backup - to harddisk over the network is best. Just the data.
Format
Install NT using NTFS. Using FAT with NT is a waste of time.
Install SP3 or 5.
Install drivers
install SP3 or 5
install all your apps.
configure your apps.
copy outlook.pst over the top of your new (blank) one that installing
outlook made for you. 98 puts it in
\winnt\profiles\<you>\applicationdata\something
Hope it all works. It usually does.
6-9months later, do it all again.
I dont think there is another way. the other way is to stick with 98,
which involves doing the same thing every 3 months.
Oh, and while we are on this, here's another one for people with BIG
(>4gig) disks who want to have 1 partition:
find an NT box, put your new harddisk in and format it with NTFS.
take it out, put it in your machine, install NT on it from the CD, and
dont format the disk - wahla, a big, single NTFS partition.
