well, it uses Java, so yes, it does. and the strong typing that java
has, etc. Its not interpreted either (ie, it uses the java compiler to
compile to byte code, and runs that - but its not interpreted like ASP)

True - I have to agree with activeX in the browser - it was a joke to
start with, and its pretty much dead AFAIK now. Good for intranet apps
tho.
