The full press release at

more interesting (and less misdirecting) than the commentary.
The purchase of 25 million of shares (which may, or may not be
10% of Inprise -- it's not stated) is only a small part of what's
going on.
>From a developers' perspective, MS paying $100 mill for licensing
some Inprise technology, and giving Inprise a fast track to things
like MFC and so on is not a BAAAD thing <g>.
However, it may, conceivably, put paid to the idea of Inprise
heading more strongly in the direction of Linux for Delphi etc...
