true - but again, maybe in the license agreement, they agree'd to not
get credit, or something.

Without directing this right at you, this is exactly what I HATE about
slashdot - there are so many people who assume stuff without knowing any
facts - Sun may have given blackdown the code for free in exachange for
the rights to use the code (with or without crediting them) - whereas
others had to pay for it.

Then there are the people who only consider something a piece of Linux
software is its totally, 100% free, with source, with no control over it
by the author. Sorry, I dont buy this - the only reason why this
industry has come forward is 'cos people have been PAID to write apps -
99% of us here do, and I for one would not be creating as much usefull
stuff (or be as good at what I do), if I didn't have some financial
incentive.

/. - good resource, but the forums are a total waste of time.

Sorry, I'm ranting - but I read the /. forums on JBFE and JDK1.24Linux,
and it just pissed me off something cronic.

Yes, but only if its allowed - if they have agreed to Sun having control
over the source, in exchange for something (maybe getting the source in
the first place), then Sun are not doing anything legally - or morally -
wrong.

If BD had their code 'ripped', however, then Sun should burn in hell
until they are nice and crispy.

what, you dont have a Sun Ultra under your bed?

yeah, the resource requirements are a little high....
