Of course:
<HMTL>
<HEAD>....</HEAD>
<BODY>
blah blah
<%="Hello from JSP"%><BR>
<%
String someString = "Hello world";
%>
<%=someString%>
%>
</BODY>
</HTML>
You can also include beans (and have them session, page or application
bound), have parameters in the bean auto-set from the form posting, include
other JSP's or html, etc etc etc.
etc.

Is it not a foolish man, said little Woo, who keeps all his chickens in his
trousers?
For at best, will he not suffocate his chickens, and, and worst, will he not
disappoint the ladies in the village?
