Can you do this:
root@dev# smbclient \\\\10.0.0.1\\sharename -U nwise
(substituting your IP (or DNS name), sharename and username)
I can do this with little or no setup change. Here's a few things I've
found:
set workgroup = domain: set them both to the same thing and your server
appears to be in the domain :) (not really tho - just in the list)
security=user
basically, I have stuff all else set on. I use encrypted password ('cos I'm
using NT), but I can't join the domain - Windows 2000 has been hacked again
to stop it working with SAMBA. Maybe in the next release.
Dotn forget it takes AGES for windows 95 to sync with a master browser. Hit
F5 a LOT.

Is it not a foolish man, said little Woo, who keeps all his chickens in his
trousers?
For at best, will he not suffocate his chickens, and, and worst, will he not
disappoint the ladies in the village? --Alexi Sayle
