Hi folks,
Quite offtopic, but someone will have done this, I'm sure <g>.

A client wants our app to launch Word against an arbitrary
document and run an arbitrary (user defineable) macro which is
NOT part of that document but is in Normal.dot or some other
"generalised" place.

Is there a way to do this *without* getting into COM, e.g. from the
command line, such as:

Winword.exe mydocument.doc /runmacro ThisIsMyMacro

??

Failing that, could someone more VBA-aware than we suggest an
alternate approach (even a way to make a given system-wide
macro always run, no matter what document is opened? That way,
we'll have to put the onus on the macro to detect the kind of
document the client WANTS it to run against -- feasible I guess).

TIAs.

cheers,
peter
