The demo in its current form is just that a Demo. It just show how the components work etc.

I AM tho, going to be writting an Outlook addin that will sync the phone and outllok, as well as make a folder under the Inbox, that will out the SMS messages into.

As far as syncing with a palm, I believe this requires another type of came and some software for the Palm, but there is software out there to sunc a plam with outlook.

Also, in an oversight on my part and the guy I wrote the components for, we suddendly realiased that the Demo will have to be able to SIMULATE a phone connection. I.e. in your case, you can get the software, but have no bale to connect it to try it...but I am going to be altering the demo to provide a version that will act as a simulator for people like you....we both went DUH when I thought it...

Yes. Its all done thru the phone. Infact, I have sent some SMS messages and vodaphone have not picked up on it !
The idea with the components is, to gibe you a GUI interface to your Nokia phone via a cable that connects to the phone.

IT keeps some info like the phonebook and SMS in a local Flatfile DB on yor HD, to speed those bits up .

There is a Demo availible, although if you have no cable, its not going to connect to the phone etc.

its one of the reasons I stay with ICQ as my IM app - until the jabber ones do SMS its too expensive to change !

Hi. Does SMS, PhoneBook, LOGOs, Ringtone NetMonitor, plus some other bits and peices. Which is better than the Oxygen components, they only do SMS

It does however require a Cable to communicate, but I made on for less that $10, or you  can buy them for like $15 USD on the net or from the guys who supply the DLL.

 

I must say, that doing SMS from the keyboard of the PC is SOOO much easier that on the phone !

HI all. A few months back, I started a thread about talking to Nokia phones from the PC.

Well. I was looking around, and came accross one called Mobile FBus.

IT was in OCX form and version 1.5 was free, BUT I was written in VB and the OCX didn't work too well in Delphi due to some Variable mis-matches that the Developer did not know would happen with Delphi.
Anyway, I wrote a wrapper for the OCX in Delphi, and to cut a LONG story short, the OCX uses a DLL.

I Put a proposiiton to the guy who write the Mobile FBus stuff, that I would write delphi components that wrap the DLL etc.

Its taken a month or so, of working late after work, and I have now finished the components and they will be released this weekend.
