The products I like are - MS InterDev - Cute HTML - NotePad - and yes, I am serious - HomeSite
What I like about MS Interdev is that it is the only tool I have found that leaves my HTML alone - it does not "fix" it for me. If you program already you should already be capable of closing tags and do not need the editor to do it for you. It is not that I do not want the editor to close the tags but that most editors which do this also re-layout the code and that is something I hate. There are so many different GUIs for creating websites and each has pros and cons - it is like choosing what GUI you will program an application in - the are just too many and all have their own uses. Web applications are as diverse as any and that means that the tools used are as diverse too. I am not one of those programmers who love Emac and insist it is the only editor of any worth but when I do HTML stuff I still like to see the code in its raw state, hence my choices of editors.
