Answers to questions:
Yes, it is a D5 DBISAM app
No, they appear to have done nothing (since my app was last running) except load 
Norton - no printer driver changes.
My app doesn't 'install' in the registry sense: it is a straight copy.

I suspect that the Norton uninstall does not put things back exactly as they were 
before installation - I have sent them away to re-install Windows.

If that doesn't work, I have no idea where to go next.

Will keep you posted - maybe a week or more, they are only sometime users of 
their laptop.
