Title: RE: [DUG-OFFTOPIC]: newsgroups

I pay $US30 per year for www.spamcop.net , and only end up with 1 to 2 spams per day, no viruses.

I forward my pop3 accounts to their web mail, and set their web mail to forward back to a different local pop box, which means the filtering is all transparent.

Because I (and lots of other people) pay for it, they put a lot of effort into keeping up to date with new spam, viruses etc.

I have had it for 18 months now, and my local Norton’s hasn’t once had to stop a virus email.

Well worth it for the time, effort and grief saved.

Any newsgroup posting will get you on the distribution list for 50-200 copies of Swen aka Gibe per day at the moment, it seems. They weigh in at 144 or 156K and claim to be from Microsoft or something similarly genuine-looking. Are those the ones you're getting?
