i have not tried the Sun one at all.. I was using a 2.2ghz dual core Mac Laptop, with 2GB ram.. 1GB host, 1GB guest.. anything less I find useless for development.. Now I use a Quad Core 64bit desktop with 8GB ram, and i allocate 2 CPUs, and 2GB ram to my Dev Machine in VMWare.. that works well
