Libfabric pre-release v1.6.0rc1 is now available: https://github.com/ofiwg/libfabric/releases/tag/v1.6.0rc1
A second RC will likely be published in 2-3 weeks based on testing results to pick up documentation updates with full details of the v1.6.0 changes. The short version is that v1.6.0 incorporates performance enhancements to various providers, adds support for shared memory, and includes basic support for persistent memory.
