Please include a copy of the patch inline in the email.  It makes it much 
easier to review and comment on.

This patch introduces a second copy of getopt into the development tree.  
Please remove that and use the one available under etc/.  If updates to that 
version are required, which I'm guessing should _not_ be the case, then put any 
updates there.

It would be ideal to use this update to update the Linux versions to support 
Windows, so that the code can be completely shared, similar to what is done 
with libibmad and ib-diags.  You could use the ib-diags as an example of how 
this can be done with minimal impact to the Linux code base.
