My take-aways from this election: o The incumbents were reelected, which implies their actions in the previous year weren't universally hated :-) o The majority of the voters liked the proposed constitution. o We (those of us who supporterd the new constitution) weren't effective in getting out enough vote to get it to pass. One reason given for abstaining/voting no was that the charter and theproposed constitution were out of sync. Another was that the constitution was just fine the way it was and didn'tneed updating. There seemed to be some related vocal angst over how Sun changed its view of OpenSolaris (the community, the product, the relationship...) since the community was launched. Starting with the Charter sounds like a good first step. Vigorously pruning expired CC grants, disbanding dead projects and community groups and instituting some sort of common expectations for new Core Contributors (maybe include a requirement that they vote) would help keep this @##^%%$ quorum thing from being an issue going forward. I would like to see a list of the public voter rolls with an indication of who voted in this election. Actual votes are secret (of course!), but the fact that a person voted (or not) should be a part of the public record. At least here in the US, for national and local elections, it is. -John
