I think a lot of it was unexpected, to be honest. Early on we /wanted/ a user community to grow, but we were not at all prepared for it. Not even close. Heck, it took over a year just to get most of the source out. But I think we are ready now (ready to /begin/ now, I should say ... long way to go). > While I can appreciate others feeling disgruntled based on promises that may > or may not have been made from day one, I do strongly believe that having a > binary 'OpenSolaris' is a good thing, and delivers a binary product for the > 1000's of people who have been asking to download it. > And this will be especially important in emerging regions of the world. We will build a large user community and that will help the developer community grow as well. Jim -- Jim Grisanzio http://blogs.sun.com/jimgris
