I am pretty sure that I won't have access to a phone, given that I am
in Switzerland at the moment and our R&D has a team adventure planned
somewhere in the Alps for mid-week. Good luck, have fun, and don't
forget that open source is a way to learn new things (even weird things,
like how to be a productive board member).

Stephen Hahn is still the official Secretary. One of the first things
on your agenda should be to select a Chair and Vice-Chair with the
responsibility to make your meetings run smoothly. Not creating such
a role for the CAB was probably the biggest mistake we made early on.

One outgoing thought. It is tempting to try to run the OGB as if the
entire process is independent of Sun. That is wrong. Sun's insistence
on retaining control of the intellectual property makes it impossible
for the OGB to support itself in any reasonable fashion, and it is
actively harmful to encourage volunteers to "pay their own way" just
to compensate for it (eventually, you will run out of volunteers, and
volunteers are far more valuable than anything else at OpenSolaris).
Please allow Sun to pay for the expenses necessary to keep the
community healthy -- a healthy community is in Sun's best interests.
We all know that you will keep an open and independent mind, regardless
of Sun paying for reasonable expenses, so do not burden yourselves
just to portray an appearance of independence. It is more important
that the work gets done.
