For chipsets and devices created by or sourced through Sun, my team  
co-ordinates a wiki for hardware documentation[1]. Kind hands from  
both the OpenSolaris and *BSD communities have added pointers to  
implementations, and we'd welcome anyone who had input.

Great idea, yes. I believe remembering the origins of decisions  
openly is one of the hallmarks of open development.
