In accordance with Article VIII of the OpenSolaris Constitution,
public votes are required for release plans and release decisions
within any project governed by an OpenSolaris Community Group.
A release is defined as any packaged distribution intended for
people outside the originating community.

Failure to follow that process is grounds for dissolution of the
community and reorganization of its work in a form that will
obey the rules by which we agreed to form this organization.
None of the projects governed by the Desktop Community have
demonstrated any sense of awareness of these rules, and Project
Indiana has deliberately ignored them on several occasions.

It is time to decide whether the constitution is going to be
enforced as the bylaws of this organization. Failure to act
means that the bylaws have no relation to what goes on under
the banner of OpenSolaris, and the OGB is merely a puppet show
for the dictator behind the curtains. In that case, it would be
better to dissolve the organization than participate in a sham.

I hereby appeal to the OGB to dissolve the Desktop Community
and call for proposals for its work to be reorganized into
communities that actually intend to work on OpenSolaris projects
in accordance with the OpenSolaris Constitution.

Cheers,
