I suspect this is more a case of eWeek not knowing that OpenSolaris 
isn't an OS itself:
"Sun has used proprietary Solaris since the 1980s as its chief operating 
system for workstations and servers; it released the freely available 
open source version, OpenSolaris, in June 2005. "

Given that Sun itself won't support Indiana (yet), I would find it 
extremely surprising if Dell did.  The other press releases I've read 
have only said Solaris 10 will be supported.  I believe this to be true, 
and I believe eWeek is probably erroneously using OpenSolaris in its 
article.
