Just to clarify this a bit:

Since the election, we've had a contributors at opensolaris.org list, which
currently has about 345 Contributors /and/ Core Contributors on it. The
list was only used a few times, and the current subscriber data is old.
Most people are not even aware that we have the list.

I suggest we delete that list and open a Core Contributor list for only
Core Contributor conversations. The list should be open to view, but
only Core Contributors can post. New people can be added as they become
Core Contributors. There are currently about 350 Core Contributors on
OpenSolaris, so that's the voting Membership at present.

Some people have (justifiably) said that we are getting bogged down in
gyrating threads with a lot of noise and no decisions or clear action.
Well, it seems to me that the only people who can make decisions on
anything are the Members, so why not take some of these conversations on
to a list that can make some decisions? This brings up an interesting
question of the value of the OGB list as well. I think initially the OGB
list was intended for governance conversations, but it seems to have
become a general list at this point.

Even if we don't like the idea of having the Members assert themselves
and lead (people seem to want the OGB to do that), we still have the
issue of the Membership having no clear way to communicate with itself
other than to use general lists (but then people complain about the
signal to noise ratio and don't participate). And if people don't like
the idea of having a Core Contributor list at all, then I think we
should still delete contributors at opensolaris.org since it's not used and
violates our website policy for insufficient traffic:
