Hi guys, As you probably know, the OGB recently voted to create an Editorial Committee, to oversee the Community-wide parts of the opensolaris.org web site (including, but not limited to, the home page, download pages, and so on). The main rationale for creating the committee was to avoid things like the Indiana->OpenSolaris issue without the community having a say in the decision. I expect that most changes would more or less be automatically "rubber stamped"; the intent is to avoid contriversial content on the home page without any community input.
The committee is to be made up of 5 people--2 from the OGB, and 3 from the community a large--and is to look after the content of those pages. The site's infrastructure and other behind-the-scenes technical stuff remains with Derek and co. After a lot of thought (and some welcome input from Keith), I've decided to ask if would agree to sit on the committee. Would you please take a few moments to consider this request, and let me know your decision in the next day or so (it'd be ice to get the committee in place for Xmas). I plan to be the 5th member of the commitee.
