I don't know of anyone being discouraged by management from
running - certainly I didn't hear a peep from management this
year on the elections, unlike past years (though the VP's
responsible for that are no longer with the company) - just
being discouraged from the painful experience of the past and
watching the OGB over time. As I'm sure you know, it really
is a thankless role, catching all the flak, but with little
power to enact change.
