OK. IIRC, one of the terms of the D20 Liscence (not the OG liscence) is
that you cannot give rules for character advancement -- they must buy
the Players Handbook. Here's my problem. I am thinking of a D20 Supers
game, and am contemplating a few changes to the typical D20 system.
Specifically, I want PCs to *begin* at about 10th level, with a wide
assortment of powers and feats. From this point, though, they advance
very slowly, since a 10th level Super (as I'm plotting it in the total
abscence of the SRD) is considerably more powerful than a 10th level
anything else. (I am considering a very, very, loose 'class'
structure...I hate Palladiums classes. I'm thinking Skilled, Equipped,
and Empowered as the only 'classes', with great flexibility in the exact
mechanics of powers..."Equipped" doesn't mean what you think it means,
BTW...not entirely.)
But back to my question -- I want to use a different experience table
for Supers, to reflect the fact that supers begin with a lot of powers,
but gain/change them very slowly over time. This sounds like it would
violate the D20 Trademark liscence. (Not that that's such a big deal,
for me, but for someone who wanted to publish for money, it could be
problematic.)
