Well basically I agree. The problem is that, in CoC, the players are 
hopeless and they know it. Sooner or later their PCs will either die 
or go crazy. Why bother keeping track of power levels when you're 
going to die anyway? The current system is very basic, you just 
keep track of a bunch of skills, when you use them you might 
improve.. that's it.

Unless they make the 20th-level investigator who can kill Cthulhu. 
In which case I'm out of it. NOW.
But frankly, I don't think WotC personnel is stupid, so I won't cry to 
the desecration of CoC until I see the results.
