I disagree, Faust. Open-source projects give immediate benefit in increased
usefulness--there is built-in "profit" for *ANY* development to the source.
Better reliablity means a better installation, which means a better job for
the open-sorce guy.
For Open Gaming, the only "profit" motive is the *non* open part. Considering
that Scarn is pretty much "wide open for development", I don't see a problem
with someone trying to harness all of the rabid d20 fanboys (*raises hand*)
and putting them to respectable work.
Isn't that part of what openness is about? Putting the rabid fans to work?
