Indeed, Brucie's "Yippie-Ki-Yayy Mother-Fucker" line from Die Hard was one
of his best and wasn't jarring at all. In fact it fit the whole comical,
irreverant, sarcastic mood of the rest of the movie. In fact I think that
line is VERY comparable to the "Instant BadAss" originally put forth - there
for "realistic-sounding irrevrant comedy".
And besides, doesn't Kid Rock have a song out called "American Badass"?
"Ass" isn't really a bad word at all (you hear "Kick-ass" all the time on TV
& the radio), and I don't think even a source of concern mature label-wise.
Of course I still agree with the majority here who applaud the inclusion of
mature, non-gratuitous things like profanity, censors be damned. Heck, if I
had my way the "Yippie-Ki-Yayy Mother-Fucker" line would have been the quote
for the Everyday Hero in Feng Shui :)
Troy, who thinks mature themes are good as long as they aren't gratuitous,
except nudity - nudity is always good, gratuitous or otherwise :)
