But this does not "close" the door on the existing material, existingI don't think that's possible, Mike. I mean, closing the door. What's OGC now will remain OGC forever--well, at least until WotC's copyright runs out, at which time it'll be Public Domain, and even more open than OGC.
OGC will still be usable under version 1.0 {and possibly under 2.0.}
The tricky part is having "new OGC" and "old OGC" covered under the same license, with "new OGC" not being able to be used under the old OGL and, hopefully, without "old OGC" having to be re-issued from the top as "new OGC."
As much as I doubt that an "OGL 2" will ever be released unless the current one is voided by the relevant court, I'm rather certain that a new type of content will never be created. It's far too much hassle for far too little benefit.
