As I
understand it (I'm not completely in the loop on this, mind), there is an
attempt to cut down on the number of people producing SRD Compilations that
aren't following the OGL -- reproducing the SRD without the appropriate copy of
the license, for example (Heck, I know I downloaded a pdf version of the SRD off
of the net that didn't include the proper legal material and Core references, so
it is happening).
CMG is the first -- or at least claims to be the first -- to release the revised version of the SRD that is in compliance with the OGL. I'm fairly certain others will do the same in the coming months. They don't need permission to do that, but they do neeed to follow the basic guidelines.
