The email you replied to was a very
badly worded one that made my point extremely badly. I had no intention of
hounding Clark or having a tirade, I can't even blame PMT or anything. I my
original intent was to say that I didn't see how this sort of thing would help
*ME* (when I believed that I WAS in a similar situation as Clark) not to bash
Clark. (I believed that it was obvious that someone who was still in business
knew what they were doing and that I just didn't get their explanation). I
seriously regret sticking my foot in my mouth with this as if I had worked out a
more diplomatic way to request further clarification (without sounding like a
complainer, he might have gone over the positive business implications).
However as I don't have a large business to protect, like he does, I don't
suppose it matters if I don't do things the same way that Clark did then or does
now.
I have actually said separately (or
tried to) that I didn't think this product WAS trying to cripple any
content, and mistakenly thought that saying that was enough to stop that
bad email from sounding bitchy.
To use your example, I was sort of
scratching my head and saying two things:
1) "Why do you take out
the cassette player run around the free car and then put it back in
from the other door?"
2) "Why do you put a microwave oven into the back
seat of the car and then take it out again?"
However, I freely admit that I did
sound like a guy complaining about the lack of satellite radio when he
should just be saying: "Hey, a free car, wow, that's really
cool!"
