I saw Ryan's post earlier, that was why I feel they will break 50,000 units for
the PHB pretty easily and probably 30,000 units for the DMG and MM. Unless some
other company has got some utterly fantastic product that uses a popular
license, I don't see anyone else breaking 30,000 units for a single product in
the p&p rpg area. Granted, I'd like to see everyone selling tons of products,
but I don't see it happening.
I was happy when our last version of the NERO rulebook broke 10,000 units in
three years. I was ecstatic when our new release broke 5,000 units in less than
6 months. If I break 10,000 units for this release in 2 years, I'll be very
happy.
One thing that is going to help drive sales of 3E products is the myriad of new
3E computer rpgs coming out. I expect to see a lot of sales to people trying to
get more insight for Icewind Dale, Pool of Radiance II, NeverWinter Nights,
etc...
