Because the odds are good that BigGamingCo can produce a higher quality
version of SuperCoolGame than BasementRipoffProductions can of its clone
of SuperCoolGame -- and for a lower cost with a higher margin. So why
would any consumer choose "Dingeons and Drugons" over the original? No
economic benefit to the consumer -- no incentive to the producer to
bother.
And you're forgetting Arduin, which replicated original D&D down to the
typos. ("Percent Liar") :)
