In the interest of promoting the effective use of Open Game Content, I
highly urge anyone who is using (or planning to use) the Open Game License
to >clearly< state what they wish to be Open Game Content and what they wish
to be Product Identity.

For example, a notice that said:

"Any gray boxed text in this product should be considered Open Game Content,
except the all proper names appearing in such boxed text, which shall be
considered Product Identity."

Another example might be:

"All game stat blocks (identified as text in the form Stats: () and
inclusive of all material between the parenthesis) are Open Game content.
No other part of this work is Open Game Content."

A third example might be:

"The entire text of this work should be considered Open Game Content, except
the Product Identity embodied by the description of the town of Ryanport,
the Ryanport maps, any reference to Ryanport's history or geography, and the
names and descriptions of the inhabitants of Ryanport."

The better we all are at keeping the Open Game Content clearly defined and
easily identifiable, the more utility that content will have.
