Hiya,

We are faced with the difficult task of finding five to seven
experienced and highly responsible people to become Trustees of the
Dunandralis Roleplayer's College Fund, develop the organization, and select a
qualified volunteer d20 module production staff without a budget. I thought
I would start with this list first, since this is the only place on the
internet that combines businessmen, lawyers and gamers. I realize that I
will most likely end up stuffing my parents and other unqualified buddies
into the Trustee positions, but I have to try to go for the gold (as any good
gamer would)!!!

; )

Candidates for the Board of Trustees should have some of the following
skills/experience: (btw, I have no idea what I am talking about. I got most
of this out of a book called "Managing a Nonprofit Organization in the
Twenty-First Century" by Thomas Wolf)

1. Knowledge of D&D
2. Knowledge of nonprofit legal matters (and the OGL and d20srd/stl)
3. Management
4. Public relations
5. Fund Raising
6. Accounting
7. Experience with organizational planning
8. Previous nonprofit trusteeship
9. Skilled at public speaking.

     All candidates must:
1. Understand the internet.
2. Support the mission of the Dunandralis Roleplayer's College Fund with a
minimum 100$ annual contribution.
3. Be a roleplayer.
4. Work well with others.
5. I don't know if Board members have to meet in person or be a resident of
the charter state/ country. Does anyone know?
6. Undergo background checks (if that is legal).

Duties:
1. Ensure that Dunandralis complies with federal, state, and local
governments.
2. File IRS financial reports for Dunandralis.
3. Serve a 3 year term.
4. Attend all board meetings (two unexcused absences will result in
automatic resignation).
5. Hire/fire the Chief Executive. (When we have a budget, that is. Until
then, all staff will have to be volunteers.)
6. Periodically evaluate the CEO's performance
7. Set an example for the rest of the organization
8. Develop, monitor, ammend, and establish controls over the budget (see #5)
9. Develop written goals for the next 1, 5, and 10 years.
10. Make policies.
11. Draft (and ammend) and uphold the articles of incorporation, the bylaws,
and other important manuals.
12. Engage the help of an attorney.
13. Write the mission statement
14. Promote DRCF
15. Have Dunandralis audited.

(FYI, Board members may not:

1. Get involved with detailed administrative tasks. (no micromanagers! bad,
bad, bad)
2. Make detailed programatic decisions without consulting the staff.
3. Get involved with personnel issues by circumnavigating the chain of
command.
4. Hire/select staff other than the CEO )

If Tymora smiles on me and someone on this list is interested, then please
contact me asap. I want to find the best Board possible. Dunandralis isn't
much now, but what it becomes depends largely on the efforts of the people
leading it. This project could bridge one of the many gaps between
conservative, closed-minded people and the gaming industry. The College
Fund will target high school aged gamers _and_ their parents. And it truly
utilizes d20 and the OGL to give something back to one of the most important
aspects of the gaming community, the gamer.

Regards,
Maggie
