You missed my point. I was referring to Wizard's non-trademark remedies for
use of the d20 logo, which would become important if the trademark was held to
be abandoned as a result of so-called "naked licensing". Obviously if the
trademark is valid then your analysis is completely correct.
Incidentally, on a different thread Ryan Dancey referred to a future "census"
of d20 products and a very informal compliance procedure. That might very
well be enough quality control to keep the STL from being held a naked license
(it doesn't take much), which would make all of this moot.
