Yeah, but they also trademark (not registered trademark btw) Ork, and Codex.
They also have a registered trademark for Eldar.
Each of those *has* to refer to GW's expression of the above words. I know
for a fact that Prof. Tolkien refers to Elves as the Eldar from time to
time, and I think John Wick had a run in with GW on the use of Ork.
