I kinda figure most people on the list feel this way, but I'm guessing
there are a few of us who don't. If the Open Gaming Foundation website
wants to involve everyone interested in Open Gaming, shouldn't it expand
a little?
>>

The OGF's website accomodates everyone who shows an interest. After
all, there are five Open licenses listed on the website, so it's not
like there are some people missing out. It just happens that the OGL
has the largest market share in the "RPG market of Open Licenses", thus
gets most of the discussion (but is not the fault of the OGF). It's all
about supply and demand.

<<
I agree with you 100% that this is the best place for info on the OGL.
No doubt. But should the OGL have its own seperate mailing list where
all the discussion concerning it occurs, and leave the Open Gaming
General Topics list for more, well, General Topics? That way if I'm NOT
interested in the OGL, I can just sign up for the General Topics list?
>>

Y'know, that "General Topics" list would be pretty quiet. After all,
how many messages have there been on this list about Open Gaming in
general that don't mention other licenses ? I haven't seen many, unless
they related to the OGL in some way.

<<
This may be true, I don't know. But by discussing primarily the OGL and
giving little feedback on other efforts, doesn't that give the
impression the "hobbiests" are being cut out of the Open Gaming
Community and dismissed as "they're not really serious contributors to
Open Gaming" because they're not using the OGL or the D20 system?
>>

If the "hobbiests" want part of the market, they need to speak up. If
the "hobbiests" whoever they are, don't speak up, or aren't on the list,
they can't complain for not getting an opportunity, ot being cut out.

<<
I think my general impression I was trying to convey is that sometimes
the Open Gaming Foundation website feels slanted toward OGL/D20, and
that it shouldn't be if wants to appeal to anyone interested in Open
Gaming in theory and practice.
>>

Yes, it does feel slanted towards the OGL/D20, because the founder of
the OGF was a VP of the company who released the OGL and D20. The fact
that the OGF includes other licenses, shows that the OGF is interested
in accomodating others, only if they speak up.

Like another poster mentioned, force-feeding topics about other licenses
onto the list is doomed to failure, if no one wants to discuss those
other licenses.

The OGF has never discouraged discussion about non-OGL/D20 topics. It's
just that most are more interested in the OGL.

All IMO.
