That sounds like the effects of applying experience to me, Lizard.
Sure, you're breaking it down and using a differnet system, but you're
still getting right to the heart of the matter.

d20 is, quite simply "in exchange for a trademark linked with the most
valuable RPG brand, use the OGL, don't redefine Restricted Terms, and
*stay away from character creation and advancement!*" Remember: WotC
can stretch the d20STL at will to patch *any* loophole, and if it's more
trouble than it's worth, they can simply drop it alltogether--giving the
entire industry segment only a few months to totally sell through.

If you want to be creative in character advancement, creation, or the
like, then you should probably consider the Prometheus or OpenDie logos.
And if you think that you *might* want to be creative in the future, it
may very well be in your best interests to promote these two logos.

The FGA has a meeting planned for a few weeks from now, and we'll see if
we can get at least a "gentleperson's agreement" style license to use
the two logos. Until then, if you're interested, just give the FGA a
hollar and tell us for what you need the logo.

You could always use your own logo to talk about level-less games, and
just use the d20 license to sell adventures that have pregenerated
characters written using your rules.

And then the question becomes one of "would this upset WotC as an
end-run around their books?" I think the answer is probably no, but
then again I also think that there's a lot of money to be made in
writing fantasy.

lol. Sure they could. They might want to clarify that a bit, though.
("Not the game that you're think of, but two seperate books that work
with that system!" or something.)
