Copying copyrighted material for personal use is covered by fair use. I can in fact, stack up a thousand copies of a CD or poem or video game in my closet, and I'm not violating copyright law. (If I give one of those copies to a friend, though, while keeping a copy for myself, then I'm in trouble.) >I seriously doubt that they'd have a problem making a case >against "fair use" being that the material had been put on a PC, >and could then be easily distributed above and beyond the email to >the copyright owner. That's irrelevant. Unless the copyright owner can prove that I *did* do that, they don't have a case. Basically your understanding of copyright law is really, really bad. You need to study it before you muddy the waters any more with replies like this.
